Do you need help paying for your prescription medications? Or need help choosing a Medicare prescription plan? Senior Services’ Senior Prescription Assistance Program, SPAP Plus, may be able to help! For years, Senior Services has been helping seniors obtain prescription medications at little or no cost. They also help seniors in choosing a Medicare Part D plan that best fits their prescription medication needs.
Prescription Assistance Program
Trained volunteers help seniors obtain their medications from pharmaceutical companies at little or no cost. You can get assistance if you are a Midland County resident age 50 and older and meet financial criteria that varies with each pharmaceutical company. Volunteers provide one-on-one assistance and work with the client to maintain current medication and financial data. Since the program started in 2000, it has saved Midland County seniors $1,621,197!
Medicare Part D
When changes to Medicare’s prescription coverage took effect, many seniors were unsure of what plan was best for them. Senior Services responded to this need through special workshops, presentations, newspaper articles and one-on-one appointments. The SPAP Plus program continues this assistance by providing individual consultations with those who need Medicare Part D help. Assistance is available to Midland County residents, age 60 and older who are enrolled in Medicare. A trained volunteer will work with the client to compare available plans. Some seniors may be eligible for Medicare’s Extra Help. SPAP Plus can help those individuals apply and enroll in a plan if needed.
SPAP Plus Volunteers
SPAP volunteers manage paperwork and telephone calls to obtain prescribed medication for eligible seniors. The volunteers for this program receive training and also have a sincere commitment to helping our clients.
