Loneliness is a serious issue that can affect physical and mental health for many older adults. Fortunately, there are many strategies that we can learn and practice to decrease this feeling and help us feel more connected and positive about our lives.
Meghan Dahl, L.M.S.W., Behavioral Health Therapist at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland, is offering a five-week lunch-and-learn series focusing on loneliness and social connection called “Bridge to Belonging” beginning Feb. 20 at Senior Services of Midland. Dahl will explore several topics, including increasing helpful positive behaviors, addressing negative thoughts, challenging social anxiety, and relaxation strategies.
Dahl has experience in working with people of all ages regarding loneliness, depression, anxiety, chronic health problems and many others. Anyone interested in learning more on this topic, whether for themselves or their loved ones, is invited to attend.
Registration is full at this time, thank you for your interest in the program and please check back for additional opportunities!
