Winter Soundscapes: Native American Flute with John Sarantos

John Sarantos is back with the beautiful sounds of his Native American flutes! Enjoy songs of the winter season from around the world and hear some of the stories behind them, performed on a variety of Native American flutes.

John Sarantos is a multi-award-winning musician and one of the nation’s pre-eminent Native American flute instructors. With a continuous grant from Stellar Flutes, he has gifted over 350 flutes to war veterans and inmates across the United States. He has been instrumental in starting several national flute circles, and continues to advise these groups. He has performed coast to coast, including New York’s Carnegie Hall, written six song books for the Native American flute, has three of his own CD’s, worked as a Nashville studio musician, and is a lifetime member of the bands Sun Shadows and The Robert Lee Revue. For thirteen summers, he taught beginning and intermediate flute at R. Carlos Nakai’s workshops in Montana. Before professionally retiring in 2016, John also worked in sound healing and music meditation.
