Come hear the incredible true stories of the women who cared for Michigan lighthouses from the 1850’s to the 1950’s. Jane Chandler, a retired teacher who now volunteers at the Tawas Point Lighthouse will share tales of their inspiring courage and stamina. These were women who took on the challenging physical tasks of keeping the lights burning, sometimes while raising and homeschooling children, to ensure that sailors on the Great Lakes could return to shore safely.
