We offer numerous ways to stay on top of your health each month with health education programs and an array of fitness classes, low-cost clinics and access to fitness equipment.

Once a month, our Health Education Coordinator, an RN, BSN, comes to each Dining and Activity Center to teach a program on medical health-related issues. Past topics have included diabetes, sleep, brain health, osteoporosis, heart health and stroke.
- Blood Pressure Clinics: If you have ever been diagnosed as having either high or low blood pressure, it is important to regularly keep track. Monthly blood pressure screenings at a Center near you offer a convenient method to stay on top of this important indicator of your health. No appointment is necessary.
- Foot Care Clinics: In cooperation with MidMichigan Home Care, Senior Services provides the opportunity to have feet professionally cared for monthly at the Trailside Center. People with diabetes or on blood thinning medication must have an authorization form from their physician. Foot care clinics are extremely popular and typically have a waiting list, so call early to make an appointment 989-633-3700. Cost: Initial visit $25, Subsequent visits $20
- Dental Clinics: At a cost of $55.00, Holly Schaeffer, RDH, a dental hygienist with In-Home Dental Link, will give you a complete dental screening, teeth cleaning and consultation. You qualify if you have not had any dental treatment in at least one year. Appointments are one hour each. Bring a complete list of medications and conditions from your primary care and specialist doctors. If you have had a joint replacement in the last 2 years, please contact your orthopedic doctor who will recommend an antibiotic to take 1 hour before you get your teeth cleaned. Call for an appointment at 989-633-3700. If illness or disabilities prevent you from coming in to Senior Services, this service is available in your home at a cost of $125.00 per home visit. Home visits can be arranged by calling 989-495-3756.
- Flu Shot Clinics: Once a year in early Fall, Senior Services hosts flu shot clinics. It is recommended that everyone get vaccinated, but it is especially important for anyone over the age of 50. Clinics are conveniently offered at all six Dining and Activity Centers in the county and administered by experienced pharmacists. Please check the dates and times for the center of your choice. No appointments are taken; injections are given on a first come, first served basis. Have your Medicare Part B or other insurance card with you and present it at the time you receive your injection along with the name of your regular Doctor. Non-insurance payments will be accepted as cash only.
Senior Services offers many fitness classes including Zumba, Line Dancing, Bonesaver Exercise, Tai Chi, Low Impact Physical Activity, Fitness Rooms, Walking Tracks and more. Please see our Calendar for the latest schedule and locations.
Move With Balance® is a 10-week, structured, intensive (but gentle) program that meets one hour, twice a week. The activities of Move With Balance make life better for participants by improving strength, balance, seeing and thinking. The group leader introduces, teaches and models each activity. Locations and dates vary, Fee: $33 includes 10 class series and a beanbag. To join the wait list for next session call 989-633-3700.
TOPS is a non-profit, non-commercial weight loss support group. The cost for a one-year membership is $28. TOPS is offered at the Greendale Center on Thursdays from 10:00-11:30am.
